Claudia Verciani was born in Brazil and found her passion for art around the same time most children find the ability to walk. She was raised primarily in the city of Rio de Janeiro, where she began to develop her interests and abilities in painting and drawing. As a young artist, she was interested in the way light manipulated shapes and colors.
At the age of 19 Claudia moved to San Francisco to finish her studies in art and design. There she attended the Academy of Art College and majored in Graphic Design where she strengthened her foundation in art. After finishing her years of study, Claudia moved to Hawaii with her newly-wed husband and began a family. In 1991 Claudia moved to San Diego, California, where she founded Rio Design, a Web & Graphic Design business. While she enjoyed having permanent employment that allowed her to utilize her artistic ability, she continued to draw and paint as a hobby.
As time moved on, Claudia’s passion for painting continued to grow. With her greatest influences being the impressionist movement, she began to fine-tune her own style of art.
Since 2005 Claudia has attended several painting classes and workshops to continue building her skills in painting. In 2007, Claudia participated in a juried exhibition at the Borrelli Space in San Diego. After this, she has been painting more rigorously and has been excited to continue exhibiting her art.
Currently, Mrs. Verciani is running her Web & Graphic Design business while striving to further her career in painting. Each piece of her art is a small piece of herself, each color a memory, each shape a relationship, and in this she finds the enthusiasm to share herself and her art with the rest of the world.
